Synopsis/Details
Grieving for the loss of a loved-one, Phoebe seeks solace from her local church. Her friend Henry follows her in and persuades her to look at his book: a leather-bound empty sketchbook. Phoebe, incensed by what she sees as a lack of sensitivity, tries to leave the church but Henry catches up with her and persuades her to look at his drawing. Henry has drawn a fire flame. As Phoebe complains to him, the flame becomes animated on the page and then bursts into actual flames.
Astonished at what she has seen, Henry suggests that she has a go. Accepting, Phoebe draw a bird and watches it fly on the page... before Henry reaches over and coils his hand over the drawing then, turning his hand around, uncoils it and releases the paper bird into the air. They both watch the paper bird fly around the church.
FLASHBACK: we learn that Phoebe has lost someone in a car accident.
Realising what Henry was trying to tell her, Phoebe proceeds to unpick the pages and lays them out across the church floor. She draws precisely and with as much detail as she can. She finally applies paint given to her too by Henry.
She waits patiently over her drawing/painting: its of her friend Kaitlyn
Phoebe turns away from the drawing/painting and throws a gesture towards Henry: "It hasn't worked." Henry smiles warmly back towards her. Pheobe turns around and finds Kaitlyn standing in front of her.
