Newlyweds Josh and Melissa think they’ve hit the jackpot: a too-good-to-be-true deal on a charming fixer-upper that promises a fresh start. But when they arrive at Harmony Heights, they discover the truth—the home is a dilapidated wreck nestled in a crime-ridden cul-de-sac with a reputation as rough as its neighbors. Duped into buying it sight unseen, their hopes of a dream home quickly unravel… until they discover $ 3 million in cash hidden behind the walls. Before they can celebrate, their home is invaded by dangerous drug cartel members looking to collect the hidden money. These members work for El Maldito, a ruthless cartel boss who doesn’t negotiate. From a stroke of luck, or something more, they are able to survive certain death and ward off the killers, who declare they will return with a vengeance. With no way out, Josh and Melissa make a desperate offer: a cut of the money to any neighbor willing to help defend the block. What follows is a chaotic alliance of misfits — including a sharp-tongued grandma, an ex-con trying to stay clean, a crotchety old army veteran, a stripper single mother, and a posse of delusional rap wannabes. As training camp goes underway and battle lines are drawn, the neighbors begin to form the unlikeliest of families. Meanwhile, DEA Agent Randall Price, a no-nonsense detective hellbent on rooting out cartel activity creeping into town, grows suspicious and circles the neighborhood, convinced something big is going down. What starts as intimidation quickly escalates into full-blown war. After a surprise cartel 4th of July attack turns a neighborhood celebration into a massacre, the team suffers a devastating loss: Shareef, their moral compass and most capable fighter, sacrifices himself to save the others. They also find out about fellow neighbor, Mr. Alvarez, was secretly feeding intel to the cartel out of fear. The blow nearly breaks them, but the neighbors rally, regroup, and launch one final stand. In an action-packed climax, the neighbors face off against El Maldito’s brutal assault in a final showdown and are victorious. The DEA swoop in, but due to a clever hiding job of the money from Shareef before his demise, the feds leave empty-handed. Six months later, the cul-de-sac has transformed—renovated, renewed, and proud. The War-De-Sac is a gritty, hilarious, and heartfelt action-comedy about survival, solidarity, and the power of found family in a world that constantly tries to divide us.
