The Wrecking Yard

Joe works as an assistant in a general store, but has ambitions to buy his own truck. Deb, his friend, tells him the old truck he could afford would be a broken down truck only fit for the wrecking yard. This gives Joe an idea to look around farmyards to find a near derelict truck he can get repaired by his mechanic friend, Matt. Joe and Matt find a suitable derelict truck that still runs in the farmyard of Bill, who sells it to them cheap. Lauren, Bill's daughter says the once she and her friend Pam used to watch cars being crushed in the compactor at the local wrecking yard, but Pam disappeared without trace a few years ago. Matt repairs the truck and Joe shows it off to Deb, who goes for a ride in it, along with Lauren. Lauren and Deb ask for a lift to an old warehouse where some unusual talent agents are looking for local models. Judd and Eric, the sinister model agents, say they want Deb and Lauren to come to the wrecking yard for a photo-shoot next day. Judd and Eric take photos of Deb and Lauren sprawled over derelict cars. They take a break for coffee, but only Deb and Lauren drink it, as it is drugged. Deb and Lauren become immobile, but still conscious. Judd tells Lauren that he will murder her by crushing her in the car compactor, but he and Eric will murder Deb first. Deb is put in a car which a crane then lifts into the compactor and crushed to death. Lauren, immobile in a derelict car, is lifted up by the crane operated by Eric, and is about to be dropped into the compactor, when Joe comes to the rescue in his truck. Eric leaves Lauren for a while, and lifts up Joe in his truck with the crane, but Joe jumps out before the truck is dropped into the compactor, which crushes it. Joe uses a bolt cutter to cut the crane's hydraulic lines. He kills Eric by bringing the bolt cutter down on his head. Joe then hits Judd with the bolt cutter on his legs, which makes him unable to walk. Joe and Lauren drug Judd with the coffee and put him into the compactor, to give him a taste of his own medicine, but spares Judd, turning off the compactor just before it will crush him. Judd shows some remorse for the murders of Pam and Deb, since Joe spared him. Judd confesses his crimes to the sheriff. Lauren has some PTSD resulting from her near death trauma.
