Synopsis/Details
Andy, an awkward but seemingly harmless man, introduces his invention—the Rewinder—which allows him to stamp and return to any moment in time. Initially, Andy uses the device for minor acts of revenge or pleasure (e.g., reliving an orgasm or getting back at a rude neighbor). With time, he begins exploiting it for material gain (winning the lottery) and indulges in increasingly violent behavior, including murder—knowing he can always rewind time to undo it. After accidentally killing a transgender woman in an act of vigilante violence, Andy has a moment of reflection and realizes that because nothing is permanent for him, nothing has meaning—not justice, not guilt, not human life. Andy confesses on a livestream, revealing he has committed heinous acts (implied child abduction or worse), and uploaded recordings of them. Viewers are horrified, but he smugly reminds them he can rewind time, meaning there will be no consequence. Andy grins, presses the Rewinder, and the screen cuts to black.
