Synopsis/Details
This Is Not Me is a slow-burning psychological horror that explores identity, inherited trauma, and the terror of being replaced by the parts of ourselves we try hardest to hide. After the sudden death of her mother, Claire Halloway, a grief counselor struggling with her own loss, brings her six-year-old daughter Julia back to the isolated Halloway estate to sell the house. But Julia starts behaving strangely, speaking to her reflection, and repeating things her grandmother never should have said. Claire begins seeing inconsistencies in her own reflection—blinks out of sync, smiles that aren’t hers—and finds hidden journals describing an ancient force that mimics its victims through grief-distorted mirrors. As the boundary between reality and reflection shatters, Claire must confront the darkest parts of her past to save her daughter before the entity inside the mirror fully replaces them both. Tone: A blend of The Babadook, Hereditary, and The Others, this film delivers scares through dread, atmosphere, and deeply human horror.
