Synopsis/Details
Set in Alabama and Los Angeles, TINSELTOWN tells the story of a young man from a small Alabama town with big city dreams of stardom. BRAD is from a working-class family. He grows up very shy and gets teased a lot in school. But he has always dreamt of making it big. Closer to his high school graduation, his father pressures him to follow the family legacy.
After school, Brad goes to work with his father in the factory; but soon grows tired of it. Encouraged by a childhood friend and co-worker from his hospital room after a workplace accident, Brad gets the nerve to leave home. He goes against his parent’s wishes and travels to Hollywood to pursue his lifelong dream of the big screen.
Brad struggles to fit into his new surroundings. He eventually lands a job at a record store, where he meets Jason, who will become his good friend and sidekick. Brad tries to audition for roles and meets Allyson, who has a wealthy overbearing father named Roger. As Brad and Allyson become closer, Roger attempts to drive them apart. Roger sees Brad as just another loser with a dead end job. Even though they come from two separate worlds; Brad and Allyson end up falling in love. These two worlds collide and Brad is forced to decide whether his goals and his new love are worth fighting for.
