Synopsis/Details
Val, our hero, is haunted by the trauma of the murder of her parents and boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. She pukes at the thought of romance, and hulks out when forced into romantic situations. After she completely destroyed her friend’s Valentine’s party last year, she decided to seek out the most remote location on the planet for this year’s Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, due to bad weather and an injury, she ends up in a small cult village whose sole existence is dedicated to celebrating St. Valentine, and all the gods and goddesses of the famous romcom movies. Each year they run a Squid Game-like competition to rid the town of single people. Val, being single, is forced to participate. Her coach and eventual partner in the game, Kilmer, becomes dedicated to helping Val get over her trauma and learn to love again. Val, in turn, tries to get Kilmer to realize his village is a cult full of murderers. Our heroes hit all the romcom tropes as they win their way through the game, and fall in love in the process. Val learns to face her previous trauma head-on, Kilmer figures out his village really is evil, and together they kill everyone in a murderous rampage full of hearts and chocolates.
