Synopsis/Details
After breaking up with her fiancée when he reveals he’s gay, Merritt York reluctantly gives in to a road trip to Daytona Beach, Florida with her other middle-aged girlfriends, all jonesing to shake up their dulls lives and finally dive head first into the adolescent rite of passage of -- Spring Break. In an homage to the great (and first) Spring Break film ‘Where The Boys Are,’ these four friends – Merritt, Tuggle, Melanie and Angie -- set out from Upstate New York to reclaim their youth and take a break from their frustrating realities. Grumpy environmentalist, Merritt wants to escape her crumbling life and be left alone; tired mother of twins, Tuggle desires relaxation and anonymity; virgin romantic, Melanie needs to find a sugar daddy to rescue her failing business; and newly divorced gym teacher, Angie wants to find Mr. Right Now. Due to the steamy and carefree atmosphere of Spring Break, all the ladies suspiciously quick hook-up with men who seem like they have the answers to all their problems. However, it's not too long before these bumbling courtships show their gigantic delusional holes and eviscerate the idealism of their adventure. By the end of the ten days away, a hard truth emerges about vacation men -- they aren’t any better than the men they left back home and maybe -- even worse. This Spring Break escapade hasn’t been a waste of time. It has opened all the girlfriend’s eyes to the simple truth of their lives -- that they are their own worst enemies. By accepting who they truly are and not let regret take residence in their souls, each stops waiting to be rescued and instead, has learned how to unearth their happiness, find peace in their life choices and most especially, let bravery be the rule of their futures.
