Synopsis/Details
Adrian "Hitz" Barrows is a legendary underground rapper from the vibrant era of 90s hip hop. Shaped by the Golden Era where hip-hop legends were born, Hitz, a nickname derived from his fighting prowess, finds himself entangled in street life and serving time in prison for a shooting incident. However, his time behind bars becomes a turning point as he discovers his talent for rapping, influenced by his love for jazz and soul music instilled by his Aunt Grace. Friendships forged in prison lead him to connections in the music industry, ultimately resulting in a collaboration with record producer Scott Lampkin, who produces the mega-hit "Wolf's Theme." Hitz's rise to fame in the music industry clashes with his involvement with a Jamaican drug lord, London, setting the stage for a conflict between his past and newfound success. As Hitz's music career takes off, tensions escalate between him and Scott, who sees Hitz's constant questioning of contracts as betrayal. Despite his success, Hitz becomes disillusioned with the direction of hip-hop and disappears. When Hitz learns of a rising new rapper, Roz, whose meteoric rise puts him in the crosshairs of killers, it captures his attention. Hitz grapples with his role in preserving the essence of hip-hop and the responsibility he feels towards artists like Roz who don't know the evils of the music industry. He decides to get involved as a fixer. Meanwhile, his personal life becomes increasingly complicated as he navigates relationships and confronts his own identity as an artist and a man shaped by his past. Driven by a sense of duty to hip-hop's roots, Hitz embarks on a mission to protect, and in some cases kill for, those who are being taken advantage of, risking his own safety. His journey becomes a quest for authenticity in an industry rife with deception and exploitation. Along the way, he forms unexpected alliances and confronts his inner demons, ultimately reaffirming his belief in the transformative power of music. As the stakes escalate and Hitz becomes a target himself, he must rely on his wit, skills, and the support of unlikely allies to navigate the treacherous waters of the music industry and emerge victorious as the wolf that he is.

The Writer: Quincy Lucas

My name is Quincy Lucas. I was born to parents who happened to be drug addicts. That thing called drug addiction actually gave me a lot of time to see what I didn't want to be as well as gave me a different perspective on story telling. All in all my environment gave me grit, endless resource material, and pushed me to complete my bachelor's degree but it also introduced me to creative writing which gave me a release. And this was a release that I needed. It was then that I discovered stories but better yet stories discovered me and until this very day we are friends. Here, I hope to share my friendship with you all. Respectfully, Quincy Lucas Go to bio
