Synopsis/Details
Throughout this psychological drama, the anxious protagonist, Macy, attempts to have fun celebrating her birthday. As the party commences, Macy suggests playing a couple of drinking games with her friends. Although hesitant at first, they gradually become enthralled with the competitive and cheery nature of the game. However, as the clock ticks to ten, crowds of uninvited strangers suffocate the apartment. The games, lay forgotten as Macy’s friends wander off to mingle with the new arrivals. An uncomfortable shiver plummets through her body as she observes the mayhem. Striving to remedy this feeling, Macy weaves between the mob and dances within the crowd. Unfortunately, Macy’s attempts to fit in are thwarted when hallucinations of shaded silhouettes appear in the shadows. With their intense glare, the creatures cause Macy’s breathing to increase rapidly and her vision to blur. Suddenly, she escapes to the balcony, where she is forced to fight against the hallucinations’ persuasions for her to go overboard the 6- story drop. Finally, pushing herself to the balcony’s wet concrete floor, Macy crawls to the nearest corner and accepts that no matter how hard she tries, she cannot enjoy her own birthday party. Macy bursts into tears.
