The Devil's Toy
A father on the run after being accused of murdering his children must destroy an ancient evil before it kills again.
Imagine… A hideous evil, hidden in the most innocent of places – a simple, unassuming children’s jack-in-the-box. Mix in a generous dose of Lovecraft, and a backstory that involves Nazis, the Dark Occult and an abandoned concentration camp…
Voila. You’ve got the Devil’s Toy. Penned by writer Chris Keaton, this feature is an expansion of a short produced by Sprocketboy Films, which has won several awards.
…and now it’s spawned a full-length script. One that shouldn’t be missed:
An old man lies dying. Before he passes away, he calls his estranged son, John, to his side. You see, he’s got a few souvenirs from the war upstairs. Ones that must be kept locked away.
Needless to say, things don’t turn out quite so easy. Before John can carry out his father’s wishes, his two sons open the box. Releasing a terror that can’t be contained.
Directors and producers take note: if you’re a fan of Lovecraft, and looking for your next project – Devil’s Toy has a lot of treasures locked away, ripe for the taking. A reasonable budget. Spectacular gore ala Clive Barker or more. And a premise that begs to be explored…
