Hey all,
Have a pretty broad question. One that I've found divisive answers regarding all over the net. In lieu of the fact there is no technical "international copyright" - and as someone about to enter the fray of selling spec for the first time - what is the best option to hit the biggest market while acquiring the best protection?
Is US or Canada the better copyright option for dual market sales? Or is it best to do both?
Thoughts? Experience? Legal testimony? Horror stories?
Thanks in advance. Keep scripting.

Yeah, I'm super happy and proud this conversation has happened as it can potentially save so many writers a lot of money.
I'm still working on being able to write four scripts at a time. I'm watching the Hugh Jackman hacking scene in Swordfish as inspiration.
That 10 pieces of written work is ideal for me when it comes to pieces I have written on the fire service. Little snippets of the REAL life of firemen and what they encounter at present and the past scenarios. I have included the web address of the United States Copyright office for everyone to see.

CJ - Good thing typewriters are on the decline - excruciating by 10+ (paper) cuts...
Thanks for the link, Tony! It gives me a much better idea of the process for registering a collection of unpublished works. Not applicable to me, but really good to know for future reference. The page does seem to indicated two is the minimum, and ten is the max, which makes sense.
