Yes, Shootin’ The Sh*t with Shane is back! As some of you know, Shane and I jumped on an opportunity to make a feature called Double Threat in autumn and we went from initial concept meeting to wrapping principal in just three months… during Covid! Now that’s done, the dust has settled, and Shane is spending his days in the edit bay, we are able to restart these Zoom sessions.
For those that don’t know, these sessions are a very casual meet-up we hold where anybody can put their questions to Shane and pull from his lifetime of experience. These often run for hours so you can log-in and log-out at your leisure. They are a great way to get a professional opinion, stay updated on the developments working filmmakers are seeing, and socialise during lockdown. Grab a drink and join us.
Shane Stanley's credits are a rare find. Winning Emmys in his teens, selling a spec script for six figures and running a production company with Charlie Sheen in his 20's, plus having a #1 international blockbuster (Gridiron Gang) in his 30's, it's safe to say Shane is a special kind of creative even by Hollywood standards with a lot of great stories to tell. He’s also the author of What You Don't Learn In Film School, a book that’s rapidly raising his profile within the independent filmmaking scene and has led to him guest lecturing for film schools, being interviewed by Film Courage, and hosting webinars on Stage 32.
This is available to Rockstar members only but anyone is welcome to sign up for one month at $5 simply to take advantage of the session.
The next session is on Saturday 13th Feb at 12pm midday PST. Details can be found in the Rockstar Resources feed and will also be sent to all Rockstars via personal message closer to the date.
Thank you. I am looking forward to it. Would like the questions advanced to you before or will you choose from those attending? Noon PST is 10:00 am in Chicago. Does he scan this site before the session?

I've put it in my calendar. A little strapped for time in the next few weeks, but hopefully I can stop by.
Tony, the meeting takes place in Zoom, third-party software. It's free but you'll have to download Zoom first. There will be plenty of time for all questions. CJ isn't kidding when he says these meetings run for hours. More like, half a day.
Thank ya! Absent getting hit by a bus or unknown irl-commitments (generally preferable more latter than former lol) I hopes to attend.
I suppose things could be swamped after his interviews went industry-viral... hopefully he remembers us hometown fans. (LOL, jk ;) )
I have zoom installed. Actors need that now. I am also looking forward to meeting many of you. I am presently preparing a tag line and a query letter. I then up load my script. I need to do this before February 13th.

It should be pretty easy to take part. Usually, you only have to click on the link and it takes you straight to the meet. There's stuff to learn in the software like how to switch on your mic and camera but it's easy to get used to.
I prefer it when people hold the questions for the day and ask them themselves which they can do by speaking up or using the chat feature.
Emmy's as a teen.. I gotta hear how this guy got noticed lol
