Synopsis/Details
“All the Way” is set to the backdrop of London, England, and the world of professional soccer. Kevin Calabrese is a young American who sets out to fulfill a childhood dream and live up to the enormous potential he has been saddled with by playing in the English Premier League. Along his journey, Kevin gets more than he bargained for in the form of cheap tabloid fodder, a worsening medical condition, a club full of hooligans, and a maniacal chairman hell-bent on exploitation. Luckily, Kevin comes across the one woman that might be able to put it all into perspective and keep him on his path to glory. Kevin Calabrese has accomplished all that he can in Major League Soccer and decides the time is right to pursue his goal of playing professionally in the English Premier League. Sold to the London United Lions (fictitious), halfway through their current season, Kevin's new club sits seventh in the standings and must lean on their latest addition to make up ground before it‘s too late. Unfortunately, Kevin suffers from severe anxiety, which becomes exacerbated as pressures mount. However, Kevin quickly bonds with his new teammates, a cast of characters ranging from two sex-addicted Brits, a Frenchman who would rather look good than play well, a temperamental fellow ex-patriot, and a dim-witted Dutch goalkeeper. Each shows Kevin the way to make it in the foreign land, even if it does get them in hot water. The club manager, a former pro with a huge heart and a penchant for attention-seeking, acts as a central mentor and confidant. Being a stylish, good-looking, wealthy footballer, Kevin has his pick of the litter when it comes to female companions. After a rendezvous with an Italian supermodel leads to an expose in the tabloids, Kevin realizes soccer needs to stay his number one priority — making a competitive splash from the first kick. Kevin soon launches his club up the standings and in contention for the league title. Focused and unaware of approaching beauty, Kevin meets a striking young newscaster named Melanie. She easily becomes the object of his affection — and although it appears Melanie is having a positive effect on Kevin's career, she is harboring a secret — that if exposed, could derail the club's success. With his responsibilities growing, and an ever-increasing media spotlight, both on and off the field of play, Kevin's anxiety begins to spiral out of control. Satisfying the needs of others and not himself begins to affect his performance on the pitch, sending Kevin towards a mental breakdown as the season comes to a close. With the fate of an entire city riding on his shoulders and the love of his life hanging in the balance, Kevin makes a life-altering decision — one that will set his destiny in stone forever.

The Writer: Mike Calendrillo

At the age of three, Mike Calendrillo first appeared on stage during his mother's (Jean Marie) one-woman show. This is where Mike first discovered his love for performing. As a teenager, Mike continued to hone his craft when he had the privilege to learn the fundamentals of acting and screenwriting from Michael Coppola, nephew of Francis Ford Coppola. Here, Mike picked up the nuances and subtleties that go into creating memorable pieces of art. After high school, as part of the music group J2, Mike and his sister L'ren, signed a record deal and toured the country, singing their very own brand of pop/r&b music — opening for the likes of Lenny Kravitz, JC Chasez, and Nick Cannon.
