Allegiance

Lieutenant Colonel Erika Dresden is a widowed black ops commander for a non-existent, one-person military unit that raises a weaponized nanovirus called, Allegiance. Dresden recruits a non-traditional team in response to a suspicious distress call from the original testing facility called, the Hive, including Doctor Dupree - the inventor of Allegiance’s medicinal predecessor and the Chaplain - a mysterious company holy man sent to perform Last Rites. During the drop to the Hive, Chaplain indirectly reveals to Dresden that her missing son is there as part of the experiment. With this news, all plans come undone. Planet-side, four informal teams fight to survive: Dresden looking for her son and trying to understand who the Chaplain really is; The original sniper team; A rag tag team looking for Dresden; and Dupree, testing Allegiance under a lie. When Dresden discovers Allegiance has evolved into the Emerged and has her son, she fights to escape to level two to find him. The pilot concludes with a cliffhanger that sets the story arcs of our cast: The Emerged continues repurposing every living and non-living thing in its ten level path to return Dresden to its family; Dresden’s recruits looking to either help or kill her; The Chaplain killing all who stop him from understanding Dresden’s immunity to Allegiance; the sniper team making the rendezvous in the overrun Hive; Dupree’s discovery about Allegiance as the disease and the cure, and Dresden’s quest to level ten of the Hive for her son.
