Synopsis/Details
Fisher, Ford, and Levi Tanner know what it takes to thrive in their childhood wilderness, the Forge. But three nights ago, they met there match at the hands of a monstrous cryptid. With their Pa missing by its hand, and Fisher in the hospital, Ford and Levi return to the Forge seeking help from the area’s lawmen, River Tanner. Their estranged brother is less than convinced of the events that occurred at the hands of the thing dubbed, “Big Evil”, but family is family and he retraces their battle across the land. Ending at the spot of their epic battle, the carcass of a bear named Junior, Fisher, Ford, and Levi expand their search for Pa, until word gets out that a local “Bigfoot” lives amongst the Forge. This reunites River to the search, and deeper into the Forge’s Indigenous reservation, where the Tanner’s are reminded of Chief Blackhorn’s disdain for those who pollute the land… And the existence of a mysterious visiting Pow Wow council member, aka the Dark Man. With nowhere to turn for their search, the Tanner’s must now compete with the cast and crew of a famous cryptid hunter, Hamilton Brown and his world class pack of hunters: Queensland Johnny, Ulysses York, and Jabari Mburu. Juliet is the next of the three bears to surface, and all but the Tanner’s pay their lives to witness the difference between a bear and Big Evil… and the Dark Man’s possible connection between them all. Pushing harder now to find Pa, the Tanner’s use the reservation’s annual Pow Wow to seek a truce to focus on finding Pa. Pressured by growing fear of the Manitou spirit he’s unleashed to wield Big Evil, the Dark Man tracks Pa’s unconscious body, and the confrontation of those fears, at the Forge’s Forever Falls. Returning Pa to the Tanner’s doorstep along with his loosed Manitou spirit, the Tanner’s face off against their most fearsome foe, the third bear, Romeo. Victorious, but scarred by the encounter, the Tanner’s pick up Hamilton Brown’s mantle in warning the nation of her need to protect Mother Nature, and their unique services surrounding that, while the Dark Man returns home from the Pow Wow to warn his own mysterious elders of the spirit that may come for them all now.

The Writer: Jim Kowalski

Like most people, I work 9-to-5 to earn a living. Like most writers, I write 5-to-9 to become more. In both worlds, I bring outside the box perspectives to everyday voices. I’m a lifelong learner that has intentionally built a broad pool of life experiences from which to build my stories from. I’d like to apply all of these things toward a writing career that brings value to all involved. I'd love to write memorable features for audiences looking for unique experiences. Go to bio
