Synopsis/Details
“Bad Jackpot” is written along the lines of films such as “The 40-Year-Old- Virgin” and “Snatch”. The story is about Ray, an unhappily married man who accepts a lottery ticket from a stranger after a chance encounter. Ray checks the ticket the next day and to his astonishment wins the $100 million dollars jackpot. Unbeknownst to Ray, he is the victim of a sinister plot and as Ray cunningly hides his new-found wealth from his cheating wife Mary, the masterminds of the lottery scam close in. Ray’s secret is revealed and now Mary wants her cut but the private detective she hired to spy on Ray has a plan to get all of the money without losing much of it in legal costs. Convinced by his friends to fight for every dollar, Ray and his buddies come up with their own plan to keep the money from Mary, her greedy private detective and the crazy crooks behind the lottery scam. It all deteriorates in a series of botched kidnappings; blackmail attempts and incompetent buffoonery that will make Ray regret his “bad jackpot”. I believe the twisting storylines, high stakes and universal themes in “Bad Jackpot” will appeal to a very wide audience.
