Synopsis/Details
Adrian Chivers, the future of a bright new America, hides an intolerable weakness which threatens to derail his rise up the political ladder. Ben Brown is the unassuming Chicago constituent that will ensure that doesn’t happen, although he doesn’t know that. Through an abuse of position and influence Ben is sent to serve Adrian’s sentence, for the greater good.
Evidence of Adrian’s transgressions are soon apparent as parents are bought off so not to de-stabilise the growing popularity of the newest player in the political den. Fast forward 18 months and Adrian is pushing on with his campaign to become governor, much to the displeasure of journalist Jeff Steer who covered the original accusations.
Having advanced with his own career he now believes he has enough evidence to reveal Adrian for the kind of man he really is. With the meeting set up, Jeff pays the ultimate price for his discoveries, setting forward a chain of events in order to deflect all eyes from the future governor.
Having volunteered as an identity parade dupe, Ben Brown provides the perfect patsy for Adrian and his aide to wash their hands of any wrongdoing, and come down hard on such offenders. With little family, Ben relies on his sister, Alex, to fight on his behalf when no one else is willing to do so. As Ben adapts to prison life, Adrian pushes on with the campaign without reckoning on the determination a sibling bond can provide.
As information of Adrian’s character comes to light, so his blind ambition pushes him into abusing his influence further, both within the prison system and the need to silence Alex Brown. With the race for election and truth running side by side, there can only be one winner.
