Synopsis/Details
"CRAPS, YOU LOSE" is a neo-noir crime/drama feature about a hard headed private detective, MAX STONE. Max is hired by ROXANNE to find $5000 in missing poker chips along with her runaway teenage sister, ASHLEY, who took the chips. Within 48 hours, Max identifies a suspect for the poker chips. When Max shows Roxanne a photo of his suspect, EDDIE, she gets scared and immediately fires Max. With a runaway teen that might be mixed up with the city’s drug trade, MAX can’t let go. He stays on the case to find Ashley, even after being fired. During surveillance, Max finds both Eddie and Ashley entering the VALLEY CASINO to cash in some of the missing poker chips. Eddie and Ashley are confronted by and interrogated by Max and casino security. After reuniting Ashley and Roxanne, Roxanne is then murdered by her drug dealer ex-boyfriend, Eddie. Feeling like his confrontation with Eddie may have gotten Roxanne killed, Max is back on the case to find Roxanne’s killer, despite the objections of DETECTIVE (Smitty) SMYTHE of the Police Department. When Eddie is subsequently killed, Max finds a witness to a poker chip scam, drug dealing, and to Eddie’s murder. But when Max's witness sets him up, he and his witness end up pinned down in a shootout with FERNANDO, head of the city's new meth trade. Now, with time running out, Max must protect his witness from the shooter, or he and his witness could also be killed.
