Synopsis/Details
DAVE (45), a chiselled, middle-aged man nurses a coffee, observes RANDY (16-25) a beautiful young prostitute do something completely unexpected (playful) as he looks out the window of a café. He waves at her and she swaggers into the coffee bar, to warm up and perhaps ply her trade. Once she realizes Dave's disinterest in being a john, they talk. They warm up to each other until Dave accidentally hurts her feelings, and she rushes out into the wind and cold. He apologizes the next day, but it's still awkward. They talk about her aspirations, and share a laugh. He offers to take her under her wing, send her to school. Randy is immediately suspicious, gets up to leave. Dave promises it would be entirely above board, that he'd never abuse her trust. A poignant discussion ends when she leaves, climbs into a car with a complete stranger, and disappears into the night.

About the Screenwriter: I was recently picked up to write for a local production company after they perused a writing sample I submitted. So far, I've handed in one action/comedy script. I'm fairly well-rounded, educated (public, high school and college), and was advised many times to be a writer, so, of course, I became a designer for nuclear plants, turning mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics into working drawings for trades people (you can't tell the young anything).
