Synopsis/Details
Whatever's happening in the woods scares the hell out of Danny Felton (30). Thinking he had escaped urban problems to live a quiet existence in the forest, Danny instead suffers nights filled with violent blazes of man-made lightning, instigated by: Yula (30), a strange but attractive woman and her two equally odd cohorts, Xavier (60), and Tenner (35). They claim to come from the future to collect extinct forms of life for breeding purposes. Project Ark it's called--to rebuild the planet from the past. Danny has inadvertently grounded them. They show Danny a damaged device they say can send them back...if they can fix it. They demonstrate and Danny becomes a believer. He and Yula scour the woods for samples of life which no longer exist in the future. Sadly, many of the species on Yula's list are already extinct even in our time. Xavier coughs, Yula sneezes, Tenner vomits--they've contracted viruses for which they have no immunity. The Sheriff appears with men and dogs. He's certain the electronics Danny's been buying in town are for a bomb. Xavier works feverishly to finish the device, while Yula, Tenner, and Danny lead the pursuers on a wild chase. Xavier attempts to return the group to the future. Fearing he'll never see Yula again, Danny insists on going along. Yula promises to return but Danny knows she won't--the Earth's resources have already been severely compromised--she and her team must go back further in time. Xavier hits the switch and the visitors disappear forever, leaving the Sheriff flabbergasted, and Danny alone again but no longer lost, and no longer disengaged from the world. *** Takes place in one location, a forest, with five characters. Designed for a minimal budget/found-footage style production. Also available in web-friendly versions--13 x 5-10 minute episodes or 41 x 1-2 minute episodes.
