Synopsis/Details
After the untimely death of their parents, Rebecca and Darius, both teenagers go to live with their eccentric grandmother Lilly. Rebecca is wheelchair bound and scarred. Darius is going blind from a degenerative eye disease. Their grandmother is the founder of the Institute and she believes she can help both of her grandchildren. The Institute is a pioneering organization that can replace body parts and give those who can afford them a new life. Amelia and her team; a strange collection of silent misfits are waiting should Rebecca and Darius choose to undergo treatment. Rebecca is reluctant due to her religious upbringing. She believes that the work being undertaken at the Institute goes against God. Darius however is not swayed by faith. He dreams of working in the medical profession, but blindness will destroy any hope of achieving that goal. Reluctantly he becomes a patient at the Institute. Amelia an eye specialist, will perform the operation, but she has her own issues and concerns. Dark, twisted science dominates the Institute. There are many things behind its walls that Amelia wishes to keep secret. Once Darius is under her scalpel will she choose to blind him from the truth, permanently?
