Synopsis/Details
Synopsis: In a world where history played out differently, the Roman Empire is alive and well,
and has united the entire world. Ruled by a Proconsul who answers to the Imperial Senate, the
Emperor is now more of a ceremonial position. However, that changes when PROCONSUL
CLAVIUS dies of a mysterious heart attack, leaving EMPEROR DOMITIAN to assume
emergency powers and lead the empire. His son, MARCUS, is eager to ascend to the throne,
but Domitian sees the boy’s rampant partying and utter glee at tormenting others as a sign that
he is unfit to rule.
Instead, he names TRAJAN, a childhood friend of Marcus and son of Clavius, as the heir to the
Empire. Infuriated, Marcus executes Domitian and weaves a conspiracy that will destroy all his
enemies, and possibly the Empire along with it. With Marcus’ plans set in motion, Trajan must
reckon with the burden of leadership and defeat Marcus in order to assume the crown Domitian
entrusted him with.
