Synopsis/Details
A cross between The Good Place and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Good Lord is a half-hour comedy series about the consequences of giving absolute power to an absolute moron. After getting fired from his firm, an ill-tempered architect named Brian Cohen discovers his boss, Damien, is hiding a miniature planet in the company basement. Brian comes to find out that Damien and his father are intergalactic engineers who plan to demolish Earth and replace it with the utopian miniature planet, known as Earth 2.0.
Brian is unwittingly roped into helping Damien rid Earth 2.0 of its rampant organic lifeforms,
which Damien views as a blight on his utopia. However, Brian soon finds himself in a position of power when the inhabitants of Earth 2.0 begin to worship him as their god.
As the series progresses, Brian becomes more conceited by the power given to him by the
inhabitants of Earth 2.0. In contrast, Damien comes to realize how much he cares about the people on Earth and how he does not want them to be destroyed along with the planet.
With Earth’s inevitable demise drawing nearer, Brian and Damien conspire together to save the people of Earth by relocating them to Earth 2.0, without Damien’s father finding out. If Damien’s father discovers their plan, Earth 2.0 will be scrapped, and the inhabitants of both planets will be doomed.
