Synopsis/Details
In 16th-century Spain, Sinan, a young Jewish man from Granada, is forced to flee with his family after the Jewish deportation decree marks the end of the Reconquista. Uprooted from their homeland, they journey to North Africa, where Sinan reunites with his childhood friend Othman, a Muslim who shares the pain of exile. Together, they are drawn to the Ottoman fleet, seeking justice and survival in a harsh world.
Sinan’s tactical brilliance and unyielding thirst for justice catch the attention of the legendary pirate and naval commander Barbarossa. As Sinan rises through the ranks, Othman becomes both his ally and confidant, their friendship enduring amidst fierce naval battles and complex alliances. Yet, Sinan’s path is fraught with personal sacrifices, including an arranged marriage to Barbarossa’s sister—a union meant to secure his loyalty but which deepens his inner conflict.
While Sinan becomes Barbarossa’s most trusted advisor, he is torn between the plight of his people, his sense of duty, and the bonds of friendship. Othman, grappling with his own loyalties, serves as a mirror to Sinan’s struggles, forcing him to confront the cost of revenge and the meaning of justice. In a world shaped by war and displacement, Sinan must decide where his true allegiance lies.
