Synopsis/Details
With covert funding from the military, a small team of molecular biologists work to combine military stealth technology and human biology. The idea is to create the ultimate military weapon: an undetectable soldier who can disappear and reappear at will. The military threatens to pull its funding unless the project goes directly to testing on human subjects. Unfortunately, the technology is flawed. The test turns human tissue invisible, but it also damages human cells and causes extreme physical degradation. Over time, it will kill the test subject.
A Special Forces operative is the first in line to become the first invisible soldier. He is the boyfriend of one of the scientists. At first, the test appears to be successful, but later is revealed to be flawed. As time progresses, the subject experiences severe tissue
degeneration. The soldier goes insane, and the Commander orders him to be put down. The Invisible Man escapes. The military pursues but has no chance of finding him. The lab is shut down and put under quarantine.
Later, as his condition worsens, the soldier is forced to attack and kidnap the remaining scientists. He takes them back to the lab and forces them to work on a cure for the tissue degeneration/invisibility.
A group of military commandos storm the lab, using night vision cameras and weapons to target and corner the Invisible Man. The Commander had it planned all along to lure the Invisible Man inside the lab complex and trap him there.
During the ensuing battle, it is revealed that the Commander has no intention of letting the Invisible Man or the scientists live. It was a plan to wrap up and destroy all the loose ends at once.
The Invisible Man’s girlfriend knows that she can cure him and stabilize the technology. She just needs more time. They team up to take the commandos out and to buy the time needed to make the cure. She even takes the serum herself and turns invisible to prove to her boyfriend that she can develop a cure.
They fight the commandos, and the Commander is killed. Together, they find the cure for the tissue degeneration and decide to “disappear” together.
