Synopsis/Details
ONE SHEET | LIFE AFTER BABY LOGLINE: A nostalgic age gap love story between a commitment phobic cougar and an over-affectionate young dreamer who, along with a group of friends from university, struggle with the pressures of adulting and reflect on the past. MAIN CHARACTERS: ERIN - (31 life before baby, 38 life after baby) - A ‘young at heart’ feisty woman with all the curves and bright hair to express her bold spirit. Erin has liberal views and hates conformity, but won’t admit she’s afraid of commitment. She left her job spontaneously and went to university full-time at thirty, and dated Kyle for fun. Erin deals with the big stuff, and earns the money, she doesn’t clean or bake. KYLE - (21 life before baby, 28 life after baby) - A high-energy gym-goer and lofty dreamer who thrived in the first year at university as “the fit guy” but soon got bored with the same fickle young women. He prefers a night in and craves routine. Erin brings out the best in him, and he loves the challenge of her complex layers. Kyle is a stay at home Dad with hobbies and passions, he doesn’t fix or build things. SERIES OVERVIEW When Erin met Kyle at university, they agreed it would never be serious, but they didn’t anticipate alienation from course friends who couldn’t get to grips with the fittest guy in their year dating a “larger” woman in her thirties. A series of flashbacks reveals their passionate physical connection and the unusual way they fall in love, alongside the contrasting reality of life in the present (6 years later). Where there’s less sex, and more hoops to jump with their reversed roles and different approaches to life and parenting. As the series unfolds, the flashbacks show the way they meet and become friends with their closest couple friends Ray and Lisa, with a similar but reversed age gap. Ray receives little to no judgement for being the older man, which leads to an unavoidable disconnect between the couples. Ray often belittles Kyle with jealousy for his youth, while Kyle feels patronised and “less than” because Ray earns more. The age gap between Lisa and Erin also leads to some conflict, especially when it comes to “bouncing back” after birth or trying for a second baby, which Erin begins to believe isn’t possible when she eventually goes into perimenopause. Then there’s Tracy, the single insecure pretty one that accidentally locked eyes with Kyle mid orgasm getting his first blowy from Erin and continues to hide a deep-rooted infatuation for Kyle. And it turns out, there’s nothing she won’t do to get his attention, leading to many awkward moments along the way. Him & Her meets Cold Feet and Coupling, the show charts the nuances and challenges of age gap relationships between friends and lovers who fart, shit, shag and make mistakes - they are all different, they are all beautifully imperfect.

The Writer: Jennifer Le Roux

Comedy / Fantasy / YA and Childrens Screenwriter. Twitter @jenniferthered Instagram @jenniferthereduk I studied screenwriting in the 90s and mid-noughties, but alas I sold my soul to the corporate underworld as a digital marketer. All was not lost though, in 2016 I escaped employment and thrived as a freelance writer for top brands, elearning companies, escape rooms and tech SaaS brands worldwide. So, while I've been writing professionally as a digital marketer for more than 12 years, I am but a mere mortal at the beginnings of my screenwriting journey. In fact, it was a late diagnosis of ADHD that led me back to the craft of screenwriting in 2019, when I quickly discovered that… Go to bio
