Anne Winter is the new girl at school. She is excited about her first day and is optimistic that she will make plenty of friends. On her first day, Anne meets two friends, Hannah and Paisley, they show Anne around. Anne notices the mysterious bad boy Jack.
Anne is recruited by the most popular girl in school, Dream, to join a new elite club for the pretty girls. She’s excited about the prospect of her new club, but Hannah and Paisley warn her that Dream is using her to make herself feel better. Anne joins the club and is asked to attend a party at Dreams house. Anne brings Paisley and Hannah with her to the Party; it is her that she is officially requested to join Dream's club. Anne also meets Jack for the first time. The next day at school, Jack asks Anne out on a date, and she accepts. However, Dream is jealous of Anne and decides she wants Jack for herself. As a result, Dream concocts a new rule for the club.
Anne and Jack go on their first date to an Italian restaurant. During dinner, the waiter talks to Anne, which makes Jack very jealous. After he drops Anne off at home, Jack returns to the restaurant and stabs the waiter to death. The body of the waiter is discovered by the police, and Hannah and Paisley start to suspect that Jack is not who he says he is. They warn Anne that she might be in danger, but Anne defends Jack.
Jack and Anne's relationship intensifies. Eventually, Jack takes her virginity. He tells her that she will not leave him and she cannot talk to other guys. Anne is not sure how to handle this; she does not like this side of Jack. She has never seen him act this way.
One night at a party, Anne dances with a guy, and Jack drugs her. He then stabs the guy to death and stashes him in his shed. Finally, Jack rapes Anne while she is asleep. When she wakes up, he tells her that she had too much to drink, and he took care of her.
To steal Jack, Dream sets up a nanny cam and plans to sleep with Jack and use the footage to extort Anne. Instead, Jack sleeps with Dream, and in the process, he kills her by strangling her.
Jack and the others go on a date at the local skating rink. While there, Jack sees Anne talking to another woman. He goes into a rage and punches Anne. Having had enough, Anne tells Jack that she is breaking up with him. Jack begs for her forgiveness and swears that he will never hurt her again. Anne tells Jack that she is pregnant with his baby. Anne reveals to her mother and friends that she is pregnant with Jack's baby.
Anne tries to get away from Jack, but he tells her he can't let her go. Hannah and Tim fight him at school and flee. Later Tim is attacked in the parking lot of the local supermarket. Tim goes to Anne's house. There he finds her and her mother. Soon Jack shows up and breaks in through a basement window. Tim fights Jack and is knocked down the stairs and knocked out. Jack goes
after Ms. Winter and Anne. It is only after Anne grabs Jack's gun and kills him that the nightmare is over.
Nine months later, Anne had her baby. She is surrounded by all her friends. Her new boyfriend, Tim, stands over her as she introduces him to everyone as the one who saved her life.
