Synopsis/Details
4 x 47 minute drama for UK independent TV Britannia Surveys, the last surviving British seismic survey company, is fighting for its existence in a world dominated by corporate takeovers. From the treacherous waters of the North Sea to West Africa and the South China Sea, Aldred Grayson must use all means possible to save his family business from the Dutch predator threatening to dominate the offshore industry. Using Oceansearch, a company with two arms to its offshore consultancy business, Aldred buys into the world of industrial sabotage. It is a step he immediately regrets and only when someone unexpected dies as the result of a bad job does he realise how dangerous his own position has become. Retribution is not far away, and a woman who will stop at nothing to avenge the death of her younger brother could prove to be a valuable ally if only she can be kept in the dark about the full extent of Aldred’s affairs. This, coupled with the framing of an innocent man and the terrible harm to his family, brings two normally peaceful people out for revenge against Oceansearch, culminating in the ultimate downfall of its ruthless owner Carl Moston and the survival of Britannia Surveys.

The Writer: Alan Fleet

I started out as a novelist and Woollyback was my first novel to be published in July 2000. Two years later this was selected by the UK Film Council for a tutored adaptation at Bournemouth Film School which in turn led to me completing a Masters in Screenwriting in 2006. To date I have made twenty-three short films on a wide variety of topics with costs ranging from zero budget to £10K. Giri won four festival awards and all the films can be seen on YouTube at Alan Fleet Short Films. I have written eight novels, a four-part TV drama, and eight feature screenplays, one of which, Summerisle, is a spec sequel to The Wicker Man that Robin Hardy had expressed interest in directing through… Go to bio
