Synopsis/Details
Due to recent medical news, Nora, a mid-thirties woman is left weeping on the sidewalk in front of her tiny house. Hollowed out by her leukemia and left with no one to confide in. Sending her down a deep mental spiral until Roman, an inquisitive 11-year- old neighbor, peddles past and sparks up a conversation.
The two gradually grow onto one another as they spend more time together. Giving Roman a mother figure he lacks and a reason not to go home and gain more bruises from the abusive mom he has, Jocelyn. Someone emotionally drained from losing her oldest son and would rather spend most days glued to the couch with the house all to herself.
Roman and Nora keep each other distracted which is something neither of them have had on their own. They become inseparable after some early confusion about who owned the stolen bike Roman rode earlier. When making him return it to a woman named Olivia, the two adults begin to take interest in one another. Which works out since Olivia’s son gives Roman a friend his age.
As Nora and Roman start, a small lawn mowing business to help buy Roman a new bike, each passing day Nora is chipped away from the inside. Giving her less motivation to keep letting Roman visit, forcing him to go back to his mother. Weaving them both down a path that results in one of them ending up inside an open casket.
