Synopsis/Details
Barrington Weekly Wrestling is one of the last remaining wrestling territories in the country but the wrestling, and more importantly the characters that fill the roster are 100% real. The promotion is run by Executive Producer Sanya, Head of Talent Relations Milton, and CEO Warren Barrington while Warren's father and BWW Founder Sylas Barrington remains in the picture. When Warren unexpectedly announces the promotion will be ending their local access TV show for a national TV show the ripples are felt throughout the company. Sanya feels betrayed Warren did not include her in the decision, Milton is tasked with laying off wrestlers for budgetary concerns including his best friend, Ty, a low level BWW wrestler, and Sylas wants no changes made to his quaint regional territory. Sanya battles with Warren unwillingness to admit that BWW might not be ready for a jump to the national stage but soon deduces he might is hiding something about his intentions. Milton meets with some of the wrestlers including an alcoholic lizard-man, a luchador with duel identities, and a former major league baseball player being forced to fire some of the staff. Sylas tries to win control of the company back but finds himself on the losing end. Milton hits rock bottom when his Ty's name is on the list of wrestlers he's supposed to fire. Sanya finally gets Warren to crack when he admits the company is broke, he failed to revitalize the company like he promised his dad he would, and the national TV was a favor from his former business contacts. It will only keep them in business for a little while longer. When faced with firing Ty or quitting, Milton decides to quit. Sylas and Milton work together to realize they may be able to save the fired wrestlers. Sanya forces Warren to face the remaining staff just as Milton, Sylas, and the fired staff return having realized that Warren never owned the controlling stake of the company they previously thought he did. Instead he was tricked into buying a fake portion of the company from a grifting scam artist wrestler. Sylas uses his position as co-owner to veto the TV deal and re-hire the fired staff. Warren finally comes clean to everyone that it's all a moot point since they are soon going out of business. Sylas finally agrees to the TV deal if everyone keeps their job while Warren agrees to sell his penthouse to keep the company afloat; together they decide to work as a team to run the company if even on a shoestring budget and they both admit Sanya needs a bigger voice in decision making. Milton reunites with Ty as they look forward to the future of BWW.
