Synopsis/Details
We all live in our own little bubble, seeing the world through the lens of our own pre-conceived notions. What if your bubble popped and you saw yourself for who you really are? When Chaz's bubble popped, he did not like what he saw. That's when he set out to do something about it. Chaz’s life was great. He’d look in the mirror and see a fresh faced, good looking, chubby African American in his thirties. He had a wonderful mother and a fulfilling work life with work friends. His free time was full of entertainment he loved, especially Sci Fi and Fantasy. One day Chaz overheard people talking about him and what they had to say did not jibe with his preconceived notions. This was very jarring, and he had a bit of a cry in the rest room. Then later that same day Chaz bumped into a book called ‘The Bubble’ that claimed he was not in touch with reality. Because of the earlier incident he was receptive to hear this message and POW! Pop goes the bubble. His bubble popped and in the mirror he saw True Chaz; fat, wild hair, filthy clothes. He saw his world for what it truly was, and he did not like what he saw. He set out to change it. Changing it was not so easy. Chaz had to change everything and see himself as a different person. That’s a tall order. And there were forces were against him. An enemy at work, a mother who was scared of change and amongst the farces against him he had to include himself; his own worst enemy. Chaz struggled, learning Spanish, losing weight, earning his karate belt, but he also made friends, along the way, got a girlfriend, became successful at work and even gained his long lost father back! And he did this his way, not by aggression, not be conquering but by spreading love and joy, by not cheating, by being smart and playing by the rules. This was not a quick fix but rather hard work that paid off. What would you do if your bubble popped? Chaz is an example to us all.

The Writer: Carl Haupt

I've been serious about the craft of Hollywood script writing since high school. I loved movies, and so much so I thought I could write them. I found out that there is so much that goes into writing a script, and if you want people to read it, let alone watch it on screen, you've got to know the rules. It was great, learning the rules, writing script after script, learning by doing. Writers, write, so that's what I did. I love writing a script because it's like you are writing a riddle that you are solving at the same time . That’s fun ! I got my comedic chops on Cable Access TV. In the eighties in high school the show was "The Bunny Hutch" (Storer Cable/Mercer county New Jersey). In the… Go to bio
