Synopsis/Details
Adapted at the author's request from Kelly Abell's novel of the same name, this screenplay follows Jack Weaver, a charismatic and skilled CIA operative embedded deep within Colombia's largest drug cartel, living a perilous double life of deception, violence, and allure. His world shatters when he uncovers a plot to assassinate the incoming President on Inauguration Day — and is forced to kill his own former SEAL commander, now a Deputy Director at the CIA, sending him into a desperate flight for survival.
Plagued by fractured visions of his past with his old SEAL team, Jack breaks into the home of former teammate Warren Walters, the Vice-President-elect, searching for answers. There he finds Caroline, Warren's mistreated wife, and reluctantly takes her hostage as leverage. As their uneasy alliance deepens, Caroline finds herself drawn to Jack despite his dangerous edge, wondering if he might be her only way out of a marriage that's slowly killing her.
Their partnership intensifies into a volatile mix of passion and peril as they race to unravel the conspiracy, confronting the secrets of their shared pasts to stop the assassination and secure a future together. But pulling the strings from the shadows is a figure known only as the Emperor — and time is running out to expose him before their entangled histories consume them both.
