Synopsis/Details
After asking Santa for a puppy, rough and tumble five-year-old Clemente Martinez finds one running free in a parking lot, so he sneaks him home. Clemente names the puppy, Snowflake, after the stuffed dog his mom, Gloria, had as a child. Gloria wont let him keep the puppy because he doesn’t fit in her budget, so Clemente asks Santa to fix her budget, but then realizes he needs something for his mom, too, so he asks Santa to give her a dad. On the way back to the pet store, they get into an accident. Snowflake escapes. When they chase after him, Gloria’s foot gets caught in a root, buried deep in the snow. The hermit who helps them is a country and western singer named Sly. He is also Gloria’s long-lost childhood friend. He was hiding in his cabin, trying to avoid his ex-fiance, Leslie. Romantic sparks fly until Leslie shows up and forces Sly to participate in a shot-gun wedding. While the adults bicker, Snowflake and Clemente sneak out and get lost. Everything looks hopeless until the real Snowflake and the stuffed Snowflake work some magic and put the love back into this comical love story.
