Synopsis/Details
(Inspired by a true story)
‘Black market baby brokers’ in the Deep South in the early 1950s. This heinous and lucrative business is investigated by a young female journalist, Virginia Baumgarden, who will risk not only her job but her life to break the story. And along the way she will team up with a young photojournalist for Life Magazine, Stanley Kubrick, as she also encounters a young black seminary student, Martin Luther King, and an up-and-coming Southern musician JR ‘Johnny’ Cash.’
Southern intrigue, racism, bigotry and ‘babies being sold to the highest bidder’ are no match in the end to Virginia and her dedication to the ideals of justice, equality and human dignity for everyone.
