Synopsis/Details
I am an advocate for the safety of children, especially those who are being bullied and abused. I am offering this script free of charge to anyone who would like to produce it as part of my anti-bullying campaign. I hope that through this short film, we will be able to positively influence and touch the lives of children, adults, educators, and anyone who cares about the welfare of children. All I ask is that you let me know you would like to produce my script, provide me with the details of how the film will be produced, and that I am credited as the Screenwriter. The story opens where a young boy lays unconscious in a hospital bed. A month later, we see Jeremy with his father reading him his favorite bedtime story “THE DREAM FOREST”. Later that night, Jeremy awakes to the sound of his parents fighting. He starts crying and wishes that he could live in The Dream Forest where he believes that all his dreams can come true. Jeremy’s wish comes true and he finds himself in The Dream Forest. He wanders around in awe of his beautiful new home, until it takes a dramatic turn. Apa, the Father of The Dream Forest, saves Jeremy from jumping off a cliff while trying to escape a herd of stampeding wild boars. Jeremy does not remember what happened to him on Earth. One night, Apa tells him it is time for him to know the truth. Jeremy looks deep into the fire and sees a young boy laying unconscious in a hospital bed. He tells Apa. “That’s my brother. He’s very sick. I think he’s dying.” Apa says, “No…It’s not your brother. Look closer…” Jeremy looks closer and sees the wristband around the boy’s hand has his name on it. Jeremy starts to cry and asks, “Am I a bad boy?” Apa says, “No…You are a noble warrior. And a noble warrior shows great courage when he faces his fear.” Through a mind vision, Apa helps Jeremy to see how he ended up in The Dream Forest. He then sees his greatest fear…The school bully who pushed him and made him fall and hit his head causing a severe brain injury. Jeremy sees his mother run away crying when the doctor tells his parents that their son may die. Apa tells Jeremy that it is time for him to decide if he will stay in The Dream Forest, or if he will return to live with his Earth parents. When Jeremy asks how he will get back, Apa tells him to just reverse his first wish that got him to The Dream Forest. Jeremy opens his eyes in his hospital bed and is greeted with tears of joy from his mom and dad. A month later, Jeremy returns to school. While on the playground, he is approached by the bully. Jeremy does not run away this time. He remembers the wise words of Apa saying, “A noble warrior shows great courage when he faces his fear. When you release your fear, it will turn into love.” Jeremy walks up to the bully and wraps his arms around him, giving him a warm hug. The bully is stunned and steps back. When the bully’s friends try to advance to fight Jeremy, the bully stops them with outstretched arms and says, “No…No more…” The bully nods at Jeremy with gratitude and walks away.
