Synopsis/Details
60 years in the future, Earth as we once knew it is no longer; within 20 years the planet will become virtually uninhabitable.  In response, Universal Space Command has launched a long-range reconnaissance ship to find a habitable planet to colonize and save humanity.  Four years into the search, a crew of four astronauts approach Proxima b, the last possible known planetary body that could sustain human life.  This is our last hope. During the journey, the monotony and frustration of the search begin to manifest among the crew. Tensions flare, love affairs begin and end, and finally, when hope is waning, the last possible planet proves to be the "one". On the final approach to the new Earth, the crew detects a large object orbiting the planet: a spaceship of unknown origin, not human.  Could this be First Contact? The alien ship appears damaged and lifeless.  With no apparent way to communicate, the captain sends out the 1st Officer to survey the alien vessel.  The 1st Officer, already resentful of the captain, disobeys orders and enters the alien ship.  On board, he discovers two beings: one dead male and a fierce female who attacks him.  Back on Earth, the climatic destruction of the planet has accelerated, and time is running out, and the final inter-species battle begins for the prize of the Earth-like planet orbiting below. Humanity's survival now rests in one man's hands; can he destroy one species in order to save his own?
