
Synopsis/Details
Clifford Wilson is a private detective. He is considering taking a murder case of the sound of a dead woman's roller skating that is heard in a corridor of an apartment building. Her neighbor Billy Jones believes the sound is related to her death. It seems that the cops have made it a cold case and many private detectives in San Francisco turn him down, so he makes his last attempt at hiring Clifford to get the killer. After hearing the sound, Clifford takes the case and moves into the apartment to get more clues.
Clifford suspects that one of her neighbors is the killer. Among them are: a dancer, a translator, an accountant, and a couple.
Besides, a lot of strange and horrible things are happening to him. When he watches TV, drops of water dripping onto his face from the ceiling. Clifford believes they are the woman's tears. Drawers open and close themselves, stains in the mattress turn red and a pair of roller skate appear in front of him suddenly, which make him scared.
Thurman Seer, a SFPD inspector, who was in charge of the case and is hostile to Clifford, takes a hand in it. He tries to prevent Clifford from getting the murderer or he will be embarrassed. He follows Clifford and checks out his computer. When Thurman breaks into Clifford's apartment one day, he hears the sound of the woman's roller skating. He follows it to the street. The sound dies down. Suddenly, a woman without an upper body is roller skating in front of him. After that, Thurman gives up on the case.
Clifford successfully videotapes the sound with his cellphone. He discovers that there is something that prevents the sound showing him who the murderer is.
Clifford is helpless. Meanwhile, the murderer is going to move out. Clifford is running out of time. He watches the video over and over again and finally, he realizes what prevents the sound and who the killer is.
