Synopsis/Details
Christmas time is fast arriving, but there is no goodwill being spread in Pennsylvania, where a series of grisly murder scenes have left Detective ATKINS only a single, mysterious clue: A beautifully handwritten letter attached with a sinister emblem inviting the victim to pick up an inheritance. Should the recipient fail to comply with the instructions and reject the vague offer, it will cost them their life. When struggling university dropout SARAH accepts the offer, she travels to Green Creek, a Massachusetts town historic for witchcraft and occult practises. After meeting the mysterious MR. VARONE, Sarah embarks on a nightmarish journey that will take her to the bowels of Hell itself. It's down to her concerned childhood friend, an archeological student named AMY, to trace her steps in order to find Sarah, unravel Green Creek’s mystery and confront an ancient bloodthirsty evil. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's short story, The Festival, THE INVITATION puts a modern twist on the tales of witchcraft, updating the formula for the tech-savvy generation. Utilising story structure found in such classics as Psycho and City Of The Dead (1960), with a generous helping of suspense and humour, THE INVITATION will keep even the most hardened horror fan intrigued and on the edge of their seat.

The Writer: Mickey Hatewood

I am an aspiring writer from London, United Kingdom. I have had a keen interest in writing/creating/daydreaming ideas for as long as I can remember. My main preference is horror, that is what I was raised on, but I like to think I could write in a variety of genres. Time will tell on that one! I wrote my first screenplay in early 2000 and have been hooked ever since. I have had two features optioned and was hired to write a spec script for a well-known genre title but, alas, that never worked out. Go to bio
