Synopsis/Details
In the early morning hours, a shadowy group of operatives, break into the secure lab of Omni Pharmaceuticals Tokyo facility, making off with a dozen cannisters of Sarin-12, the most deadly strain ever created. These are not typical operatives, led by Hitori, they are unmistakably, the nocturnal warrior spies of lore -- Ninjas.
Kenshin "Ken" Nomura, a mild-mannered Japanese pharmaceutical executive, arrives in New York City for a high-stakes corporate merger with Ritter Pharmaceuticals—and to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Nishi, a spirited young artist scarred by their shared past. Nomura is already handling damage control after the Sarin heist, with his loyal right-hand man, Saddeo, to try and keep the merger deal afloat. But when Nishi is kidnapped in a violent ambush, Nomura’s quiet world of wealth and decorum is shattered.
As Nomura searches for her, the threads begin to unravel. Attempting to question Nishi's friend, Kitty, at the art gallery where she works, he tangles with Eugene Ritter, heir to the Ritter Pharma empire, who clearly doesn't want his past with Nishi to come out. Dispatching Eugene's henchmen, with nothing more than an umbrella and some artwork, Nomura then walks Kitty home to the apartment she shares with his daughter. Inside, Nomura finds a diary and literature from a shadowy organization with cult-like aspects. It seems his daughter had fallen under the spell of a mysterious man, Shinsuke.
As federal agents Starkey and Raines launch their investigation, and internal pressures mount from Nomura’s corporate partner Benjamin Ritter and his venomous son Eugene, Nomura finds himself caught in a geopolitical war—and an emotional reckoning. Haunted by the loss of his wife Kirei—who died in a chemical terror attack years ago—and burdened by his failings as a father, Nomura begins to strip away his boardroom armor and reclaim the ancestral path he left behind.
In a fateful visit to his blind former master Kashiko, Nomura is reminded of his family's forgotten legacy as warriors and healers: protectors of emperors, servants of medicine, guardians of truth. But before Nomura can finish his rebirth, Hitori—the vengeful Koga ninja and Nomura’s childhood rival—strikes. Kashiko is slain. Nomura is bloodied. And the fire of vengeance is lit.
Now armed with a sword, a mask, and the weight of history, Nomura must embrace both science and shadow and go to war not just for his daughter—but for the soul of a family, a nation, and a future threatened by fanaticism.
In the vein of: Taken (2008), The Limey (1999), Ransom (1996), the Ninja is a kinetic techno-thriller blending family drama, spiritual warfare, and martial artistry—a tale of generational scars and second chances.
