Synopsis/Details
1. Betrayal & The Marriage Ultimatum Martin Chigowski, a wealthy and polished businessman, comes home early and walks in on his wife, Maggie, having sex with his co-worker, George. Instead of exploding, Martin sits, watches, and drinks his mineral water before coldly stating:"Fuck you, George." The next day, Martin storms into his father-in-law's office, expecting sympathy. Instead, he gets blackmailed. Mr. Henderson, Maggie’s powerful father and Martin’s boss, forces him into a week-long marriage retreat at Camp Maquis—a religious, secluded couples’ therapy center. If Martin refuses, he’ll lose his job, his stock options, and his financial future. Martin is furious. Maggie is indifferent. 2. The Convicts on the Run Meanwhile, Bobby Twilleton, a deadly, unhinged, and magnetic inmate, is being transported in a prison van through the Maine wilderness. She seduces the guard, Phillip, distracting him just long enough for her partner, Vic, to arrive. A tow truck. A sudden, brutal ambush. Phillip and the other guard are executed in cold blood. Bobby and Vic vanish into the wilderness, looking for a place to lay low. A secluded, off-the-grid marriage retreat? Perfect. 3. Welcome to Camp Maquis At the dock, Martin and Maggie are already at each other’s throats. Martin is resentful, wounded, and boiling with anger. Maggie is dismissive, detached, and utterly unapologetic. Their public screaming match becomes an awkward spectacle for the other retreat guests. Their explosive fight catches the eye of Vic, now disguised as a camp worker. Camp Maquis is run by the overly sweet Ms. Gladys and her husband, Harry. The retreat’s leader, Brother Herschel, is a charismatic but predatory “marriage guru.” Bobby, now posing as “Kateland,” begins working in the camp’s kitchen. 4. Herschel’s Dark Side & Bobby’s Revenge Herschel fixates on Bobby immediately. His oily charm and lingering touches make her skin crawl. One night, he corners her in the kitchen. A forced kiss. Hands that don’t stop. A whispered demand. Bobby fights back. She grabs a steaming coffee pot and scalds his crotch, watching as he collapses in agony, screaming. Then, she smashes a cast-iron skillet into his head. Herschel is unconscious—but alive. Vic finds out and panics. They tie Herschel up in the basement. 5. Herschel’s Death & Ms. Gladys’ Fate Herschel regains consciousness—only to violently convulse and choke on his own vomit. Vic tries to remove the gag—but it’s too late. Herschel dies. Just as they process the situation, Ms. Gladys enters the cellar and sees everything. She turns to run—but Bobby kicks her down the stairs. Her frail body snaps on impact. Ms. Gladys is still alive—but broken. Bobby kneels beside her, caressing her face, lying to her:"Herschel tried to rape me. I had to defend myself." Through agonizing breaths, Ms. Gladys whispers:"Liar." Bobby suffocates her to death with her bare hands. 6. Harry’s Grief & Brutal Murder Harry finds Ms. Gladys’ body and shrieks in agony. He sprints down to the cellar, collapses beside her, sobbing uncontrollably. Through his broken voice, he cries:"I don't know how I'll live without her." Bobby, emotionless, cold, and methodical, picks up an axe resting against the wall. She whispers:"You won’t have to." She swings. The axe buries into Harry’s spine. Blood sprays across the cellar walls. Vic stumbles down the stairs, sees the carnage, and collapses in horror. Vic: “Shit, Bobby. They were good people.”Bobby: “I know. But I’m not going back to jail.” They decide to contain the situation—by taking hostages. 7. The U.S. Marshal’s Involvement Meanwhile, U.S. Marshal Jake arrives at the dock, looking for Bobby and Vic. But instead of arresting them, Jake hands Vic a mugshot of Bobby and whispers instructions. Turns out, Jake is dirty. He’s been part of their planned heist all along. The job is happening in a week. Jake reassures Vic that everything is still on schedule. He warns him that Bobby’s reckless behavior is putting everything at risk. Vic tries to play it cool—but he knows they’re running out of time. 8. The Creek Fight: Martin vs. Vic As the hostage standoff erupts into chaos, Martin makes a break for the creek, trying to escape. Vic chases him down, tackling him into the rushing water. A violent, desperate fight unfolds in the shallow creek: Vic, a seasoned criminal, is bigger and stronger. Martin, running on pure adrenaline, fights like a cornered animal. They grapple, slam into rocks, and dunk each other beneath the water, gasping for air. Vic tries to drown Martin, but Martin breaks free and drives a rock into Vic’s face. In the end, both fighters succumb to their wounds. 9. The Final Showdown on the Dock Maggie reaches the fishing dock and frantically tries to start the boat’s trolling motor. Bobby sprints after her, screaming, crazed, her knife ready to strike. In a final, desperate move, Maggie lifts the spinning blades of the trolling motor—just as Bobby leaps. The propeller blades chew through Bobby’s face, neck, and chest. Blood sprays across the dock. Bobby collapses, gasping, her body twitching. Maggie stands over her, watches her struggle to breathe… and nudges her off the dock. Bobby sinks beneath the bloodied water. The bubbles stop. 10. The Aftermath Maggie stumbles into the woods and finds Martin’s body—face down in the creek. She falls to her knees beside him, shaking, unable to cry. It’s over. 11. Epilogue: The Unspoken Wound Back in New York, Maggie packs up her belongings, her once-lavish high-rise apartment now filled with cardboard boxes. She removes her wedding ring. She stares at it. FADE TO BLACK.
