Synopsis/Details
The late 1880s. The Arizona territory. French bounty hunter Dieudonné Bourrat rides into the small town of Prosperity, hot on the trail of a murderer. Finding his prey hiding in plain sight, Bourrat is injured in the ensuing gunfight, but amazingly, he takes down his target... without killing him. Bourrat's dedication to bringing in felons alive so that they face justice attracts the attention of Griffin, the owner of one of the largest silver mines in Arizona. Griffin's good friend Mallol, a deeply religious man who was affected by his time in warfare, came to Prosperity to make his fortune, but after losing everything, he went mad and killed his wife. Griffin has sent other bounty hunters after his friend, but Mallol has returned their mutilated bodies as a warning. Griffin offers Bourrat ten thousand dollars to track down his old friend in the Arizona wilderness, and bring him back to civilization to accept his punishment by the law. Astride his trusty horse Hugo, Bourrat travels deep into the desert to find Mallol. Putting his tracking skills and his inquisitive mind to the task of finding his quarry, Bourrat begins to sense that something is wrong... that perhaps he hasn't been told the full story behind the bounty. After a deadly game of cat and mouse, Bourrat comes face to face with his target. Mallol's belief that his devotion to God absolves him of any guilt drives Bourrat to reveal a secret that he's carried since he was a child, an act of cruelty that destroyed his faith and exiled him from France. As Bourrat's quest comes to a tense climax, faiths are tested and alliances are formed, leading to a fiery gun battle that exposes the truth behind the bounty, a truth that sets Bourrat on his own journey to atonement.

The Writer: Don Stroud

Hailing from the wilds of North Carolina, I spent my formative years making my own comic books and toys. After a lengthy career in the software industry, I decided to dust off my artistic dreams and get back to creating. I became an editor in Hollywood, working on low-budget horror movies and award-winning documentaries. But after time spent playing with other peoples' toys, I decided to craft my own, and transfer the stories in my head to the written page. Over the last several years I have dedicated my energies towards screenwriting, producing some award-winning original screenplays in the process. My goal is to sit in a darkened theater and see my work up on the big screen. Go to bio
