Synopsis/Details
Set on Oahu, Abbathy is a tragi-rom-com about Abigail (a.k.a. Abby), who spends most of her time trying to make sense of her sad excuse of a life. She's tight with fellow middle school teacher trainee friends, kinky Sara and flamboyant Peter - more so than her tech-loving, always working, distant boyfriend, Dan. But Abigail splits up with him when she discovers he's having an affair behind her back - with 'gay4pay' Peter. Torn between loyalty to her dream of marrying Dan or owning her life, Abby seeks refuge in online dating, meeting Keahilani, a Hawaiian medic. Is he the answer to her prayers, or just another player? After an all-night bender, Abigail's clash with the authorities - plus Dan, Sara, and sassy AI Saber - prove to be her tipping point. In desperation, she calls on Keahilani to be her knight in shining - helicopter?

The Writer: Zac Lucas

My strengths are: character development, comedy, dialogue, rewrites, drama and adaptation. I'm useless at car maintenance and renovations. Was hired to rewrite a feature comedy THE LEVY'S TOMB, and romcom ABBATHY . The short is in competition at a few film festivals. Also hired to rewrite THEO JESSUP, TEEN 'GENE'IUS, and as a script editor on western whodunit, ALDERGROVE (then was hired to rewrite the 5th draft). As well, I ghostwrote a short on relationship 'allergies'.,wrote a spoof on dating for a British director. Other OWAs include treatments from notes, synopses, and outlines. I write in Final Draft. My background is in acting. Go to bio
