Synopsis/Details
White, Native Aspie detective ANDREW LOOKS TWICE, has a bunch of quirks, that make him
in demand for (re)solving cold case and other investigations in a private agency. His oddball methods – which mainly center on uncontrolled visions that come to him, provide clues to unusual crimes – also makes him a target for skeptics, a relentlessly negative media – and even some of his own work colleagues. The very same who openly support him at an Awards Night, where his work on a serial killer case, helped bring the perpetrator to justice.
Yet, the kooky visions sometimes pay off, so when six-year-old BILLY inexplicably vanishes from a rundown park playground, the local authorities insist on bringing Andrew in, as they have come up empty-handed. Before long, the naive detective comes up trumps: the boy was stolen to order.
He sets about proving the impossible, tracing the van through skid marks, and the driver
through his teeth imprints left behind with an apple he threw away. Demonstrates that we see what we believe, not always what's there, but clashes with an ex-narcotics cop whom he has tangled with in the past. Furthermore, there's still bad blood over Andy's mishandling of the infamous Belker case, which the media hounded the PD over, when Andrew's clues backfired on him. The Mayor took a ton of heat over it. And coupled with the 'conditions' of being an Aspie, makes for a very challenging existence. To say nothing of the loss of his three-year-old daughter, Celeste, who drowned in front of him, and (now) ex-wife, Eve.
Meanwhile, Billy is loving life as a photographic model, and the money which goes with it. He's too young to realize the true purpose of the pictures, much less who the clients are. But when he's offered the possibility of a bronze statue in his likeness, the boy is over-the-moon. If only he knew what was behind the deal, he'd run for his life.
