Synopsis/Details
Aspen Grove is Rashomon meets The Revenant. Native mythology underlies this Folk Horror morality tale in the vein of Bone Tomahawk. Cultures clash as Manifest Destiny fuels Western Expansion in the 19th century United States. White settlers have encroached deep into Native lands, bringing death, disease and conflict to the frontier. Saved from death in the wilds of Montana by a Crow family, a fur trapper must keep his secrets hidden to regain his freedom. Running from the ghosts of his past, Geoffrey faces an otherworldly reckoning, setting events into motion that will reverberate through time, culminating in a battle for the soul of America more than a century in the making. With this in mind, we enter a world much like our own: one dominated by power, greed and the ruthless pursuit of both. Combining historical, fact-based realism with a dark fantasy backdrop, Aspen Grove explores issues of race, the foundations of religious belief, the wages of sin, and the folly of Man against the savage force of nature personified.

The Writer: Timothy Shireman

Making the creative jump has been a challenging yet rewarding transition. With a renewed sense of artistic freedom, I've dedicated myself to learning the craft of storytelling. A true genre fanatic, I was raised by the Horror section of Blockbuster. My cinematic pedigree & irreverent sense of humor give my work a unique sensibility. I hope… Go to bio
