Synopsis/Details
In 1945, at the Battle of Ramree Island, 1,000 Japanese soldiers were killed and eaten by crocodiles. Well, that's what the history books say. What if I told you they were wrong? INVASIVE SPECIES is part fanfic, part homage: A rollicking action adventure, a cinematic love letter to the movies of the 1980's that defined American moviegoing. Our story follows the harrowing adventures of a US Army Air crew, nicknamed the 'Flying Mushrooms' because of the ask-no-questions nature of their clandestine flights. After years spent flying secret missions through enemy territory in his tricked-out plane: The Shanghai Express, hotshot pilot Captain Zachary 'Pork Chop' Burton is a man who lives by the seat of his pants. Thank goodness he's got great reflexes. He and his misfit crew of American heroes thought they had seen it all. Nazis, spies, even a treasure-seeking archaeology professor. His latest mission finds him flying through enemy territory, with two soldiers, two civilians, a probable spy, and something small and adorable in a wooden box. When a crash landing complicates things, it's up to the wits, guts, and quick thinking of our heroes to save the day, and prevent anyone from breaking these three important rules...

The Writer: Timothy Shireman

There are some who call me Tim. A pre-WGA scribe who hails from a far-off, desolate wasteland known as New Jersey. After two decades in Atlanta, my Philly roots are now sunk deep in the Georgia clay. Having spent the last 15 years as a graphic designer and production artist, I decided to try something completely different & took up screenwriting. Making the creative jump has been a challenging yet rewarding transition. With a renewed sense of artistic freedom, I've dedicated myself to learning the craft of storytelling. A true genre fanatic, I was raised by the Horror section of Blockbuster. My cinematic pedigree & irreverent sense of humor give my work a unique sensibility. I hope… Go to bio
