Synopsis/Details
Synopsis: World War III starts, with the United States fully engaged in a battle against Russia and China, and Israel considering an attack against Iran. Canadian couple, Vic and Kay Sommerville, are caught up in the Rapture, leaving their daughter, Johanna Lamdan and her husband, Yitzak, a recent convert to a Jewish ultra-Orthodox sect, behind to face the endtimes. Johanna’s Christian parents’ wish was for her to return to Jesus.
Reporter Mike Donald, representing the media, explains the disappearance of millions as a pandemic that disrupted human cells. Meanwhile, Rabbi Shalom (Yitzak’s head Rabbi) from the Orthodox sect offers prayers for those whose lives were lost.
The war escalates while Yitzak practices mock animal sacrifices in the hopes that the Temple will be restored and he will earn a higher standing in his sect, but he is still a learner. Bombs drop near their apartment. He and his family stay with the Rabbi as they have lost their home.
Iran threatens to wipe Israel off the face of the map. The Israeli Prime Minister makes it clear to Iran that they will obliterate Iran if Iran chooses to destroy Israel. Gordon James, the charismatic UK and EU leader, appears out of nowhere and tries to negotiate a peace deal between Israel and Iran. But neither side trusts each other and the deal is squelched. As tensions escalate with the PLO and many on both sides are killed, both Israel and her enemies see that a peace deal may be the only solution to the endless wars. Gordon James brokers a seven-year peace treaty among Israel, her enemies, and the world.
At the same time, Johanna and Yitzak’s relationship falls apart over his utter devotion to the Orthodox sect and his getting hurt in a melee over control of the Temple Mount. Johanna and the kids leave him. She meets a Jewish-Christian couple who are part of the 144,000 Jewish witnesses. Johanna finds comfort with her first love – Jesus. She shares this with the children and tries to share it with Yitzak, but he refuses to listen.
At long last, the Temple is rebuilt. Yitzak, however, is reduced to being a guard because he has made mistakes in the sacrificial procedures. Johanna and Yitzak are apart and continue to spar over the acceptance of Christ as Messiah.
Gordon James is shot and the media makes it appear he is dead. However, he has faked his death and “resurrection” so that the world will believe he is God. However, Mike, the Rabbis, and the Israeli Prime Minister come to the conclusion that Gordon is the antichrist. Because Mike has the evidence, this knowledge costs him his life.
Gordon and his military enter the rebuilt Temple, where Rabbi Shalom is performing the animal sacrifices. Gordon sits in the golden chair declaring himself God. All the world, deceived, worship him.
Rabbi Shalom and Yitzak attempt to assassinate Gordon to prove his “blood runs red” and he is only human, but they are thrown in jail, ready for execution. They manage to escape but must leave the country. In the interim, Johanna meets with Yitzak and tries to reach him spiritually. This time his heart is touched. Rabbi Shalom and the family head to Petra, Jordan, where the Orthodox sect has supplies and weapons. On the arduous journey, Jesus comes to Yitzak in a dream. Yitzak realizes who his real Savior is. Under the backdrop of war, Rabbi Shalom begins to see the light as well.
In the Valley of Megiddo, all nations, led by Gordon James, face off with Israel. James orders Israel to surrender, or they’ll be obliterated. Outnumbered, but having full confidence that their victory is in their Messiah’s return, the Prime Minister and the others refuse to surrender. Jesus returns, sword in mouth, with his saints and defeats the antichrist and his armies, ushering in the Messianic era.
