Synopsis/Details
Northern Washington. The late 1940's.
In a town called "Christmas," a little girl named Philly Wolownik awaits news of her father's whereabouts following the end of World War 2. Living with her mother and sister in a small ramshackle apartment, they've faced financial hardship, neighborhood gossip, and a never-ending deluge of snow while keeping alive the family business: the Blow Fly Inn. Soon, her jealous Uncle Guy descends on their lives with an attempt to declare his brother dead -- making him the sole owner of the Blow Fly.
The tensions between them explode as a series of mysterious events follow the arrival of a fine-toothed Bible salesman, Chance Holywell. While boarding at the Blow Fly, he not only sets his sights on the Wolownik women -- but all their possessions, all their hope, every aspect of their lives. After one of his "customers" is found dead then later appears very much alive, Philly suspects the irresistible salesman may not be human after all...
When a man has many faces... which face is the one you trust?
