Synopsis/Details
Doctor Thomas Blake, an ex-Navy SEAL medic, is doing his best to deal with civilian life as he works ridiculous hours at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Balancing the busy schedule, as well as Susan, a new love interest, is difficult enough, but when combined with fighting ghosts of his past, Blake’s life is becoming too much to bear. At the same time, Commander Raul Cortez has planned a heist. A collection of jewels is on display at the San Diego Museum of Natural History, gems that he believes were stolen from his ancestors. He will stop at nothing to possess them. When the heist goes down, something goes awry, resulting in some of Cortez’s men getting hurt. Both the injured and the jewels are sent to the local Naval Medical Center nearby. Blake and his team treat the thugs and discover the jewels. The jewels are held as evidence until the local authorities arrive to secure them, but Cortez gets there first, securing the hospital, and locking every unit down. With the patients now prisoners and the doctors helpless to administer to them, Cortez begins his search for the jewels. After a random encounter, Blake realizes what’s happening and gets to the jewels first. He then uses the ventilation system to not only hide the jewels, but a rescued Susan as well. The authorities have finally diverted their attention from the museum and converge on the medical center. Their methods of dealing with the hostage situation fail and only intensify Cortez’s aggression, making Blake’s job harder. Blake begins a guerrilla style assault on the terrorists, employing his SEAL training to put the pressure on Cortez’s men while freeing the hostages with explosive results. With every rescue Blake pulls off, the danger grows for Blake as well as the remaining victims. Once the terrorist body count rises, and the number of hostages dwindle, Cortez orders his men to make a daring escape from certain incarceration or death. They break out of the hospital and lead Blake on a wild chase through San Diego, bullets flying the entire way. The chase ends at a marina where Cortez and his remaining thugs steal a luxury yacht with Blake close behind on a jet ski. Once the second chase begins, the suspense intensifies and the tension mounts until Blake’s final confrontation with Cortez and his small army.

The Writer: John Serafinko

My name is John and I have been writing for as long as I can remember. As far as writing resumes are concerned, this is mine. I haven’t won any awards as of yet because I have only recently began screenwriting, but I have made the Top Ten in a few weekly online contests. I have also self-published a novel. Since shifting my interest to screenwriting I have written four features and a one hour drama pilot. I look forward to meeting fellow screenwriters and learning from them while helping when I can.
