Synopsis/Details
Brian “Bam Bam” Kilborn has been pushing the envelope for most of his career. However, his latest stunt has gone way too far. A lengthy suspension without pay the last thing he wants to have happen. Desperate, he makes a final plea bargain with the team owners. In exchange for keeping his salary, Kilborn is forced to be the prize in a contest where the winning fan will host him in their home for a week. The arrangement seems amicable until his biggest fan, Wayne Thompson, wins the contest. Every day that follows snowballs into one debacle after another with none other than Kilborn at the center. It all begins with a raucous party and culminates in an all out brawl with family rivals and drug dealers at the in-laws anniversary party. Anywhere Kilborn goes in between results in more hilarious moments with insurance rates skyrocketing! Along the way, these events slowly evolve Kilborn from the unreliable rookie to a veteran of responsibility. There are a few rough edges that remain, but in the end the good side of Kilborn looks to be headed in the right direction. Playing Hardball will appeal to anyone interested in outrageous comedies with elements of action and plot twists. Any fan of “bad houseguest” humor and the chaos that comes with it will find it entertaining and wanting more.

The Writer: John Serafinko

My name is John and I have been writing for as long as I can remember. As far as writing resumes are concerned, this is mine. I haven’t won any awards as of yet because I have only recently began screenwriting, but I have made the Top Ten in a few weekly online contests. I have also self-published a novel. Since shifting my interest to screenwriting I have written four features and a one hour drama pilot. I look forward to meeting fellow screenwriters and learning from them while helping when I can.
